As Markham, we have made a pledge to take a stand against Gender-Based Violence in South Africa. In support of our stance on Anti-Gender Based Violence, we collaborated with an upcoming female designer,  Neelo who created designer T-shirts showing Neelo’s passion for Art and Design. With every T-shirt sold,  R86 of every T-shirt will go to the Sonke Gender Justice Organisation.

Sonke is a South African-based non-profit organisation working throughout Africa that believes we can all work together to advocate gender justice and achieve gender transformation.

About Neelo

Neelo is a young graphic designer and freelance illustrator based in Cape Town who has a strong belief in equality and humanity. There were many sources that informed the direction that Neelo took for her T-Shirt Collaboration, in her words,

“I’m passionate about creating art that sparks up a conversation and I believe that we need to open up conversations around gender-based violence. For these designs, I was inspired by the human figures around me and chose to express this through my love for line work, minimalism, and pastel colours”
